As 2014 draws to a close, resolutions are being drawn up for the next year. Will we learn a language, work on our fitness, plan a trip to an exotic location? Who knows what 2015 will bring. The only thing we can do, to ensure a prosperous 2015, is to have a proper send-off for the year just gone. Here are our top tips for where to celebrate your New Year’s Eve in style.


If spending the night focusing on delicious food and drinks is more your style, then you cannot go past Rogue Bistro’s All American NYE Degustation. Highlights include the ‘reef n beef’ of prawn skewers with beef jerky and hollandaise. Be transported to the Caribbean at Watt with their New Year’s Eve Caribbean Carnival. With Caribbean themed cocktails and food, live performances and acrobats, and tunes by DJ Luc to help you dance the night away. If you prefer a more relaxed approach to New Year’s Eve that still lets you celebrate in style, then Coppa Spuntino is for you. New Year’s Geek

For something seriously different, the Brisbane Powerhouse has teamed up with Supanova Pop Culture and they are willing you to let your inner geek shine! Retro arcade games such as Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Donkey Kong will be scattered throughout the space whilst bands will play amped-up versions of classic video game tunes. Throw in some film screenings, Game of Thrones Trivia and a cosplay prom and a fantastic party is set. More details here



Alfred and Constance

Alfred and Constance are throwing a house party like no other. Get lei’d until late at the White Lightning Tiki bar or head downstairs to the Fever Club that’ll transport you to the discotheque’s of Berlin. More details here



Manhattan Line

One of Brisbane’s best bartenders, Chris Denman of Fourth Wall fame, will be opening a new bar, the Manhattan Line, on New Year’s Eve. This bar is one not to be missed, with a strong focus on hotdogs and Americana styled dishes. Drinks will also be American inspired, with whiskies taking centre stage alongside scotch and rum. By far one of the most extravagant New Year’s Eve options, Soleil is bringing the French Riviera to Brisbane with a St Tropez themed party.
