Ever caught yourself mesmerized by a photo you stumbled across on the internet, a magazine, or perhaps a newspaper?
It may well have been a Nikon-Walkley award-winning press photograph.
And if you enjoyed that experience, your’e in for a treat: As of January 14th, the Brisbane Powerhouse will be hosting the Nikon-Walkley Press Photography Exhibition, displaying the works of Australia’s most prominent photojournalists.
The exhibit is the result of a competition thrown annually by The Walkley Foundation, each year there are more than 350 entries considered by expert judges, with the winner announced in November.
Post-comp is when the photographs are available for all to see – the exhibition travels the nation giving Australians a chance to see where, and what our talented photojournalists have seen and done.
Obviously, you can expert excellence on the technical front, but the content of the photographs will blow you away no less. Think everything from sporting heroes to Balinese terrorists, air balloons to lounge rooms.
