The glitz and glamour of Brisbane Fashion Festival is set to be paraded in the heart of the city in August.

Brisbane Fashion Festival previously known as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival will take the runway ‘to the streets’, taking over King George Square on the 23rd through to the 25th of August.

The event has been deemed Queensland’s largest and most prestigious fashion event and an important platform for Brisbane’s fashion industry.

The festival established over 14 years ago, is delighted to welcome the Lady Mayoress, Nina Schrinner, as the official Festival Ambassador for 2021.

“Lady Mayoress Nina Schrinner is a passionate advocate of the local fashion and creative industries.”

Mrs Schrinner is ardent about Brisbane maintaining a vibrant, flourishing fashion and retail scene in spite of the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I want the Brisbane fashion industry to thrive because not only does it make our city a more vibrant destination, but it generates jobs and prosperity,” Mrs Schrinner said.

Brisbane Fashion Festival Director Mr Lindsay Bennet is thrilled to welcome Mrs Schrinner as Ambassador and the Trust as the official charity partner this year.

“Mrs Schrinner is not only an advocate of local artists, she is a passionate supporter of the grassroots charities that the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust assists,” Mr Bennett said.

The Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust raises awareness of the important work being done.

The Trust also raises funds to enable these charities can help as many in the community as possible.

$1 from every ticket sold to Brisbane Fashion Festival 2021 will be donated to the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust.

Many don’t realise, but behind the scenes, the fashion industry is filled with dedicated and hardworking individuals, from young designers sewing in their living rooms to big producers who generate many jobs.

The festival provides a great opportunity to get dressed up in your most stylist outfit and celebrate the diligent fashion industry.

Participating designers, the program of events and tickets will be released on June 1st, you won’t want to miss out.
