You’ve probably heard their names and seen their amazing style, but did you know that these girls are Brisbane born and bred?
1. Geneva Vanderzeil of ‘A Pair and A Spare’
Beautiful and brainy! Geneva Vanderzeil of ‘A Pair and A Spare’ is renowned for her thrifty ways and has totally reinvented the term ‘DIY chic’. Making things no longer means fugly tie dyed shirts and necklaces made of pasta. Her blog is studded with cool ways to create accessories and clothing seen on runways.
Geneva’s success has been unprecedented. Projects include working with Tony Bianco and Witchery, releasing her own DIY book and website and featuring in some of the biggest fashion magazines.
Travelling the world and looking fabulous while doing so is all in a days work for Geneva!
Check out her blog here and her store here.
2. Sara Donaldson of ‘Harper and Harley’
Although now based in Sydney, Sara Donaldson grew up in Brisbane. Her day job is the sales and marketing manager of jewellery company MANIAMANIA and she looks fabulous while doing it.
Her casual- chic style is comprised of covetable pieces in basic blacks, whites and greys from luxe brands such as Celine, Givenchy and Isabel Marant.
Sara has worked with some heavyweight brand names including Gucci, Swarovski, Amex, Nokia, Witchery, Westfield, Harpers Bazaar, Windsor Smith and The Corner Shop.

3. Amanda Shadforth of ‘Oracle Fox Blog’
While technically hailing from the Sunny Coast, we have no troubles claiming Mandy as our own!
Amanda’s style is the epitome of eclectic- sporty one day and preppy the next! One thing that Amanda is known for is her love of quirky accessories that she manages to seamless incorporate into every outfit!
Check out her style and musings here.
4. Jasmine Dowling of jas + mine
Maybe it’s the dreamy graphic designs she creates or maybe it’s her effortlessly unique and attainable style that makes Jasmine Dowling so loveable.
Her whimsical typography pieces are what she is best known for and have been featured on a multitude of blogs. She’s currently working for teen mag, Girlfriend!
Jasmine is also killing it in the style stakes. She is a pro at mixing fun patterns (think leopard, marble, floral and stripes), textures and cuts with basic pieces to create a truly cool outfit. If you haven’t heard of her yet, I suggest you check her out because she is bound to be the next big thing!

With so many fellow Brisbane girls making it big around Australia and internationally, it just goes to show that Brisbane is the land of opportunity. There must be something in the water!
