Queensland Music Festival Launch Announce 20th Anniversary Program
Michael Hannay

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Queensland Music Festival have launched the program for what is sure to be a magical musical journey for all Queenslanders.

Having brought the gift of music to over a million Queenslanders is its history, the Queensland Music Festival will hold again events across the entire state, and according to Artistic Director Katie Noonan, “…it shines a light on things Queenslanders hold dear, hidden stories of our state and gives opportunity for the public to participate.”

The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre will play host to ‘Help is on its Way’ on July 27th, an event designed to shine a light on men’s mental health. Choirs from across the state will band together to sing the song, followed by a tour hitting several of Queensland’s rural and regional centres.

Popular pair The Mt Isa Blast and Opera at Jimbour will again be running, with each regional event celebrating the town in which it takes place – and promising a great day for all attendees.

Brisbanites also have a great deal to look forward to – Immersion is an extremely unique boutique concert series held in the hotel rooms of Art Series – The Johnson and FV by Peppers. The showcases will include performances by Clea, Ben Ely of Regurgitator, Emily Wurramara, Jack Carty and winner of the 2019 Carol Lloyd Award, Sahara Beck amongst others.

In addition to Immersion, The Genius of John Rodgers will bring together a number of John’s outstanding creative collaborators, including Kate Miller-Heidke, Erkki Veltheim, and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
