Review: Denim Co

After a luxurious walk around Kangaroo Point and Southbank on a glorious Saturday, my friend and I were in search of the perfect place to brunch.
Amongst the chaos of the impending royal visit, we stumbled upon Denim Co, a cute brunchy looking cafe along Little Stanley Street.
The menu boasted many tasting looking options, from fig and apricot fruit toast, to strawberry pancakes and bircher muesli, but I knew my meal would need to be large and would most definitely involve bacon.
I opted for the Bacon and Eggs on Turkish, and changed to gluten free toast instead which was an extra $3.
My eggs arrived scrambled to perfection, the bacon crispy and salty, with a half-grilled tomato on the side.
My fellow bruncher ordered the Toasted Turkish Bread and Avocado (with cracked pepper, sea salt and lemon).
To wash down my carbolicious breakfast, I ordered a coconut, lime and mint smoothie which was the perfect refreshment for a hot Brisbane morning.
My friend on the other hand, simply ordered a “large flat white†which arrived in a bowl. Literally a soup bowl. The enormity of this coffee had neighbouring diners gasping and even asking if they could take photos of it (they weren’t even tourists). So side note – unless you want a bowl of coffee, maybe just ask for a small or medium.
Overall, we were both very satisfied with our meals, probably a little too satisfied, as we were too full/lethargic to line-up in the sun to catch a glimpse of William and Kate. Oh well, we’ll catch them next time.
