Sarah Goodwin Releases 'Look Forward' Music Video
Leaving your town and moving to the big(ger) city is the great rural-Australian dream for many artists, but it takes some courage to shake your life up and leave your friends behind. Making it out of Rockhampton was a big decision for Singer/songwriter Sarah Goodwin, but her peachy single ‘Look Forward’ proved fruitful on the effort of working two jobs to move cities.
The first friend she made after relocating to Brisbane inspired this feel-good bop, making up one of the many (okay, fifty) songs that competed for a spot on her upcoming EP. “Whilst I met a few nice people and made some friends, it felt like I was on cloud nine when I finally made my ‘ride or die’ friend.” – Sarah
Produced by Stuart Stuart (Sheppard, The Veronicas), the track’s sunny guitars and catchy chorus found inspiration in Anne-Marie’s nostalgic hit ‘2002’. Sarah’s honest and passionate lyrics about her new bestie shine through to her performance, delivered with an exuberance that only compares to Canadian pop queen Carly Rae Jepsen.
The pandemic may have caused a hiccup when preparing for her studio time, but Sarah’s not done with 2020 just yet and promises her debut EP is something to ‘Look Forward’ to. By then, let’s hope the Valley’s dance floors are ready to make new friendships to the soundtrack of Sarah’s music.
