Scout Café On Petrie Terrace

Perched on the corner of Petrie Terrace and Princess St is one of our new faves Scout, with good food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere Scout has it all.
The old brick café with indoor and roadside seating offers a varied breakfast menu and a simple, but delicious, selection of bagels and salads for lunch.
If you are planning a visit as a newbie or regular- and trust us you should go- we will simplify your visit with our top breakfast and lunch picks.
The Breaky Bagel ($14.50) with a perfectly fried, runny egg, super crispy Kaiserfleisch, cheddar, rocket, sweet housemade relish, tomato and superbly garlic balanced aioli, this bagel is our breakfast of choice! With added avo ($4) there is no way this stacked up bad boy can be eaten with your hands, so use your cutlery to tuck in.
For those of you who don’t want a bagel for breaky- not that we are sure people like this exist- you can also choose from granola, brioche French toast, smashed avo, pita bread or a breaky salad.
If you have woken up a bit later in the day, or are heading out for lunch, the Jamaican jerk chicken bagel ($14) has chicken that is perfectly cooked and a great amount of spice that isn’t overpowering. With cucumber, red onion, lime aioli, coz lettuce and crisps this is everything we want in a bagel, and more. Well, that’s almost true, we also added avo because…well, why not?
In addition to great coffees ($3.50+) or a banana smoothie ($7) Scout has an assortment of freshly made juices and delicious, guilt-worthy smoothies ($7) in salted caramel, butterscotch or chocolate ganache. If you are having your shake with a meal consider skipping the ice cream or adding soy, it takes some of the creaminess out so you don’t over do it.
So for your next breakfast, brunch or lunch date be sure to check out Scout.
