At the Brisbane French Festival last week, brand new fashion blog Plave showed off four of its featured designers at the “April in Paris” themed runway show.

Begitta – “Romance and Fairy Tales”

Begitta’s pieces are all light, feminine, and floral with a clear fairy tale inspiration. The line showed us long flowing gowns – some bridal and some formal – with a few “tea party” cocktail dresses as well. The Celestial Stargazer Dress is a showstopper and definitely gives off an Alice in Wonderland dream-like feeling. Begitta’s looks made sure the show was off to a strong start.

Isabella Longginou – “Simplicity and Femininity”

Next up was Brisbane-born Isabella Longginou, who showed off a collection of denim, stripes, and bold colours. The Light Denim Jumpsuit was a particular standout, looking beautifully unique among the other feminine pieces throughout the show. The Yellow Mellow Shift Dress and Striped Palazzo Pants were also stunning and looked great teamed with denim pieces from the collection.

Dyani – “Retro and Vintage”

Dyani brought a lot of vintage cuts and patterns to the show, with it’s modern twist on retro styles. The Monceau Playsuit, seen on the far right in the shot above, was an on-trend take on a traditional 60s shape which we loved! Unfortunately Dyani is not currently available online, but they have stalls at Kelvin Grove, Eat Street, and Eagle Farm markets. Also be sure to check out their Instagram for more behind the scenes looks at the collection.

Lucid – “Sophistication and Chic”

Last but not least was Lucid, based in Sydney, who showcased some stunning dresses that we fell in love with. Lucid used a lot of monochrome with pops of colour, which suits their sophisticated image nicely. Because of the April in Paris theme, orange was the colour of choice for the season. The orange and black complimented each other perfectly and created an amazing core collection. Their feature Double Layered Contrast Dress, available in black, white, or geometric print, was also a crowd favourite.

The show captured Australian designers with international aesthetics wonderfully. Be sure to support each designer and shop Begitta, Isabella Longginou, and Lucid at now.
