I’m Italian. I love pizza. It is my favourite meal and while I might not last eating pizza for 24 years straight , I do eat it once a week and it always makes me happy.
One of my favourite new pizza joints in Brisbane is Sorellina Pizzeria at the Woolloongabba Antique Corner. The interior is stripped back  only a decoration of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles looking over the length of the restaurant. This allows the diner to focus purely on the pizza.
With a delicate base that’s pliable enough to fold over Travolta style, Sorellina’s dough is delicious enough to be eaten purely on its own.
The menu consists of so many beautiful, fresh flavours that it’s almost impossible to decide which pizza to choose.
My personal favourite is the zucchini pizza. With a white base, the pizza is topped with fresh ricotta, zucchini that has been slightly blanched for softness and a refreshing dash of chilli. It’s light and tasty and indulges your wannabe healthy side while still being able to eat pizza!
Another favourite was the Tuscan kale pizza served on a white base with Parmesan and anchovies. I love kale and this usage is no exception. The anchovy isn’t overpowering and simply adds an element of salt alongside the Parmesan to balance the earthy flavours of the kale.
We also ordered the usual favourites: prosciutto pizza with fresh rocket and a margherita pizza which featured Sorellina’s rich and smooth tomato sauce.
Sorellina is fun, young and serves delicious pizzas to boot. Spend your Sunday afternoon with an Aperol Spritz and a revolving assortment of pizzas.
