Hankering for a good cuppa in the cbd? Head down to the rather charmingly tucked away Strauss Cafe.
Brisbane’s coffee culture is like a blooming adolescent. She was once awkward, rude and would leave an awful taste in the mouth but years have past and she is now a glowing beacon of light, a beauty and a diverse being.
Strauss is no exception to this blooming caffeine city. Hidden down an alleyway off Elizabeth street the understated black and white sign leads the way.
The interior features an exposed brick wall with contrasting white walls and elegant decor. It is a small but well used space with well designed accents and polished finishes. A steady flow of well dressed business man walk in as they greet their regular barista behind one sexy looking coffee machine, I opt for a table outside along the narrow alley.
The blend is bold and the atmosphere is nothing short of wonderful especially for an early morning Monday. It offers a very simple breakfast menu and soul warming coffee by the finest Cup Beans. I order the avocado on sourdough because you can never go wrong with a good sourdough.
And wait there’s more! They are open late Thursday through Saturday where this morning brew turns into a nightlife tipple complete with craft beers and small meals.
If you are looking for something a little more mature head over to Strauss it’s music for your mouth.
