It’s time to brush up on your Deutsche, grab a bier and settle down with a schnitzel because the German Film Festival has arrived in Brisbane!
The 2014 Audi Festival of German Films is described as, ‘a visual journey into the heart of German cinema’.
This year marks the 13th anniversary of the German Film Festival in Australia. Festival Director, Dr. Arpad Solter and his international jury of film experts have chosen over 50 award winning and revered features, shorts and documentaries that best represent Germany’s multi-layered and ever-evolving culture.
The festival is full of Australian premieres with something for every sort of movie-goer. Whether you’re into drama, thrillers, comedies, romances or horror the German Festival has got you covered!
Launching the Festival in Brisbane will be the evocative drama, Exit Marrakech. Written and directed by Academy Award winning director Caroline Link, Exit Marrakech is an exploration of culture and personal discovery set in Morocco, which tells the tale of a celebrated theatre director and his disaffected teenage son who try to reconnect as they explore issues from the past.
