THE guy from Fyre Festival is coming to BIGSOUND
BIGSOUND has just announced that Fyre Festival producer, Andy King, is joining their massive roster of keynote speakers to give insight into the world of international event promoting. The Fyre Festival producer became an internet sensation after he admitted the lengths he was willing to go to make sure the A-List attendees had no shortage of Evian water.
If you’ve been on a social media detox for the past year and have no idea what we are talking about – Fyre Festival, marketed as THE most exclusive luxury music festival turned into a worldwide talking point for all the wrong reasons.
The event was run by fraudster Billy McFarland and rapper Ja Rule. The promo videos featured super models like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid surrounded by crystal blue waters on Pablo Escobar’s supposed old island. As you can imagine, influencers forked out thousands.
Hundreds of shabby tents, some cheese on bread, and a massive shipment of Evian water stuck in customs later, Fyre turned out to be a Festival fiasco. Let’s just say Andy truly embodies what it means to “take one for the team”. Plus, Fyre Festival isn’t his only feat, he also has a massive history of successful events to his name. If there’s one thing for sure there is plenty the music industry can learn from Andy’s experiences.
BIGSOUND has also announced a keynote feature comprised of four First Nations voices; Neil Morris from VMDO, Beat Magazine’s Sosefina Fuamoli, Chelsey June of Twin Flames and Ninakaye Taanetinorau from Tikidub.
On top of the exciting keynotes, BIGSOUND has also announced that it will be opening earlier and ending later. Get excited for the BIGSOUND closing party on Friday September 6 and BIGSOUND Lanes Markets on the 4th and 5th. You can find out more information here.
