The highlights of Milan Fashion Week

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, and things just got even more hectic, as Milan takes the stage for it’s turn to host fashion week.
Milan isn’t called the fashion capital of the world for nothing, so it was no surprise that this year’s fashion week outshone the rest of the worlds runways.
The top three moments of the week are:
Dolce & Gabbana
This was a total fashion history moment. Dolce & Gabbana’s collection ‘Viva La Mamma‘ was a celebration of women and motherhood. A beautiful and show-stopping display in the week- and the world- of fashion. Pregnant women, women carrying children and little girls donned the runway to display this season’s chic D&G threads. Both a smart publicity move and a inspiration behind the design of the outfits as well. Sweaters and dresses had similar messages, with children’s drawings and other prints beings displayed on the garments.  Other symbols of femininity was used with long sleeves, pencil suits, lingerie lace and influences of the 1960’s silhouette.
Gigi Hadid in MoschinoÂ
Model of the moment, Gigi Hadid, had another moment that confirmed her spot as fashion’s latest It-Girl. The beauty, dressed in Jeremy Scott’s eccentric cartoon designed street wear, strutted her stuff on the Moschino runway like the pro she is. The highlight of the show was Gigi, appearing in the most incredible gown – a black tiered graffiti number WITH GLOVES.
Prada’s show was beautiful. That is the most simple way to put it. The runway saw an exquisite collection of feminine colours and styles. The models were all female but wore suits in eye catching colours. The dresses were decorated with bows, and brooches and hair was pulled into a high ponytail with a flower motif on both hair and brooches. The hemlines were long and the silhouettes incredible, making for a truly memorable show.
