The Newsroom Cafe

Resting amongst the hustle and bustle of Toowong, The Newsroom Cafe is the perfect retreat from the busy streets.
The number of small tables interspersed outside and the close proximity to the university ensures an abundance of trendy and interesting individuals milling around, which makes the outside seating perfect for people watching.
While the menu isn’t too extensive, every meal I have ever had has been cooked to perfection with no complaints.
On top of the regular menu, there are always interesting specials available. I have included a few of my top picks!
Spanish Fry-up $16: Chorizo sautéed with haloumi, char-grilled capsicum, spinach and spanish olives, served with house salsa verde and garlic buttered turkish bread.
Eggs Rustica $16: 3 eggs scrambled and tossed with prosciutto, roma tomato, basil and fetta, served on toasted sourdough.
Rib fillet sandwich $13.9: Served with swiss, tomato, rocket, caramelised spanish onion, house relish and aioli.
Healthy start $14.5: Scrambled egg whites, tossed with seasoned tomato & chives, served on avocado toasted lekkenbrot.
The staff are always ready to help with a smile, no matter how picky my order may be.
Beware of going too early on the weekend mornings  – this cafe has become a fast favourite with locals and tends to be quite busy.
