South Brisbane is certainly full of cafés and great places to eat, but new to the block The Roastery Café is a step above the rest.

Gaining its name from its attachment to the Rouge Coffee roastery in the same building The Roastery Café has all your coffee and foodie needs covered. Toast, porridge, smoked salmon, kale salad, baked eggs and big brekkies are all on the menu, giving a wide variety of meals to cater for different tastes and appetites.

If you haven’t been before and are looking for something comforting and light the quinoa porridge for $11.90 is a great option, especially for those who are dairy free and rarely get to indulge in porridge while eating out. Accompanied with coconut, berry chia compote, chia seeds and a side of rice milk, so you can add as you go, it is a great porridge twist, and with the seasonal fruit on top it has a great clean and healthy taste.IMG_7740

Sticking with the healthy theme is their delicious green smoothie on coconut water, it is so refreshing, and a nice alternative to their delicious coffee if you want to skip the caffeine.

For those wanting to go all out and fill up the vego deal is a great big breakfast option, and for vegetarians who usually have to pay extra to get a big breakfast or eggs benedict without the meat, this meal for $19.90 will not disappoint. House beans with mushrooms, haloumi, their famous whipped lemony feta, avocado, relish and poached eggs on sourdough- everything a person needs to set them up for the rest of the day.IMG_7739

In terms of taste and flavour, the café is always consistent, even if the presentation changes between visits.
