The Sinking Teeth Embark On Their National Tour
Alex Carrette | On 19, Jun 2014
Melbourne-based punk band The Sinking Teeth will be playing in Brisbane this Saturday night
The third show of their ‘You Can’t Build a Bike out of Muffins’ tour  will be taking place at Crowbar.
Their tour coincides with the release of their new single of the same name and will take the band on a national tour from Surfers Paradise to Adelaide to Hobart.
Forming in 2011, The Sinking Teeth consists of Nick Manuell (singer/guitarist), Julian Doan (bass) and Ben Stewart (drums).
The band started their career playing in various clubs and bars all across Melbourne but managed to gain more attention after opening for bands such as Calling All Cars and Shihad.
Their music is an energetic take on post-punk that is also influences by bands such as Queens of the Stone Age, Hot Snakes and Russian Circles.
Their previous release White Water was described by one reviewer as “a chaotic cacophony of fist pumping, spine breaking, ear bursting fury.”
Supporting The Sinking Teeth will be Grenadiers, Release and Hounds and Mercy Beat.
Grenadiers are a three-piece band from Adelaide who will be accompanying The Sinking Teeth for all but two of their shows.
Playing a hometown show, Release the Hounds are a raw, hyper-energetic DIY punk band who are currently on their own Southeast Queensland/New South Wales tour.
The Mercy Beat are another Brisbane-based punk band whose material has been played on 4ZZZ, Triple J and Rage.
With four energetic bands playing on the one night, The Sinking Teeth’s show is set to be a full-on assault on the ears on Brisbane’s punk and hard rock fans.
