They're WITTY, QUIRKY and PRETTY; and they'll be bringing you the latest that Brisbane has to offer!

Ratu Lewis

Remember how at the beginning of the year we promised you more people? Well here they are!

Eight very creative and talented young ladies who promise to bring you all the latest.

AimeeAimee Catt (Photography)

I am Aimee Catt. .

I like taking pictures, no, I LOVE taking pictures and I am attempting to be a full time photographer. I seem to mostly shoot live music but don’t limit myself to that. I dabble in a little bit of everything, as there’s too much beauty in this world for my camera and I to ignore.

I studied photography though still like to think I have a unique, artistic style and be that little bit different. Coincidently, I like writing. I also like talking… a lot. I like writing how I talk.

So I am excited to talk to you about all things photography. My role at Creative Drinks is to write photography blogs, so I’ll be blabbering about what it’s like to be a photographer, give you some sweet, sweet tips and share some other cool dudes with you.

AmyAmy Billing (Music)

Hello there, I’m Amy Billing. I’m a forth year student at QUT studying Business and Media Communication and it is riveting stuff. Though, I consider myself something of a music enthusiast, which brings me here.

Firstly, let me take you back to 1999, I was wearing my brothers hand-me-down Mango board shorts (so you know I was a cool kid) and I was introduced to the likes of The Doors, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Bruce Springsteen. This was the beginning of a long-winded love affair with music.

Today, no wiser but hopefully better dressed, I spend majority of my hard earn money (honestly, it’s neither hard nor earned) going to gigs and festivals. In my spare time I listen to a little David Bowie, Band of Skulls, The Shins, Oh Mercy, Bob Dylan, Radiohead, The Smiths, The Vaccines, Tame Impala, Grizzly Bear and Sufjan Stevens. I also like long walks on the beach, and cats but that’s a story for another day. So if a little music discussion tickles your fancy, stay tuned.

¡Adiós Amigos!

Catherine “Cathy” Dee (Film)

My name is Catherine Dee, but most people call me Cathy. Born and bred in Brisbane I know the city well and am very excited about the emerging creative scene. I have just started my third year of a double degree in public relations and media and communication at QUT. In my spare time I enjoy going out to the

movies and love everything about film! My favourite genres are drama and comedy. Which is why it’s great that Creative Drinks have given me the role as film contributor for their blog. I guess what makes me creative is my curiosity for the world around me, and my willingness to try new things. I would give anything a go at least once!

KerstinKerstin Kehren (Performing Arts)

I’ll let you in on a little secret: Brisbane is a hidden gem full of performing arts talent. It may sound surprising to some but few in the industry would dispute that our little city is growing up… and fast! From theatre to opera and dance, Brisbane has something to offer every taste and budget. Even better? Our talent is world class.

So, who am I? My name is Kerstin. As the performing arts contributor for Creative Drinks, I am committed to supporting the growth of our local creative industries.

There are always exciting things going on in Brisbane’s performing arts community. The challenge is simply knowing where to look and who to talk to. My job is to help you do just that by sharing new productions, uncovering unexpected delights and telling you the stories of the colourful personalities that call the River City home.

Won’t you tread the boards with me?

LucindaLucinda Bayly (Fashion)

Lucinda is a 20-year-old student, working her way through a Communications and Journalism degree.  When she isn’t too busy running away to foreign lands or indulging in anything chocolate covered, she focuses her time chasing local trends.

At 11 years old, she decided never to take herself too seriously. Hence, she began dressing however she pleased, and discovering her own personal style – cue a mixture of tutu’s and leopard-print velvet.

Her eclectic style is now inspired by both modern high-end fashion and trends from eras past.  As the Creative Drinks fashion contributor, her keen creative eye is constantly scouring the streets of Brisbane to report what Brisbane’s fashion pack is up to.

Matilda Butler (Visual Art)

My name is Matilda Butler and I’m a new kid on the blogging block at Creative Drinks. I’ll be providing you with the latest Brisbane art discoveries, interviews and news. I’ll also be helping organise our exciting events every month, overseeing our social media and generally working to see our talent in Brisbane get connected and have fun. When I’m not snacking, thinking about snacks or talking about getting a snack, you’ll find me with my nose in a sketchbook, a sci-fi book or a biography. I’m known to play a favourite album on repeat for weeks and I like to dabble in photography – but enough about me! As a journalism student at QUT, I’ve got a curious streak and I’m always keen to hear your opinions, news and art advice. So come shake my hand, say hello, or if you’re a fan of virtual friendships, send me a message!

Samara Macchia (Architecture/Design)

I am a third year Advertising student at RMIT in Melbourne, where I have now lived for the past two years. I love all things

creative and have always had a passion for design and thinking differently. Architecture has been a big part of my life since I was very young, and I have spent many hours discussing and admiring beautiful buildings and interiors. I also love industrial design, particularly furniture design and have an addiction to shopping for furniture I can’t afford.

My role at Creative Drinks is Architecture and Design contributor. Whilst my area of study is advertising, the influence of my creativity has always stemmed from architecture and design, and exploring how a space can influence the way we feel and interact. I believe in innovation and am inspired by people who find new, better or more beautiful ways of doing things.
