Top five TV moments of 2013

Top five TV moments of 2013

| On 26, Dec 2013

They were the best of times, and the worst of times.

1. Game of Thrones – The Red Wedding

If I’ve just spoilt Game of Thrones for you, you’re severely behind the eight-ball. In possibly the single most devastating hour in the history of prime-time television, we witnessed the slaughter of audience favourites Catelyn and Robb Stark (plus about 15 other people). The show even went so far as to kill off Robb’s unborn child and his wife, at his own wedding. I’m possibly still crying over this one.

2. Miley Cyrus at the VMAs

Miley’s performance at the VMAs catapulted her back into mega-stardom, despite making her the butt of countless jokes, memes and disturbing gifs featuring her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. See her infamous performance here.

3. Breaking Bad – series final

Breaking Bad, the show that (almost) made making meth seem okay ended after five successful seasons. Walter may have died, but not without exacting his revenge and making his final amends.

4. Ja’mie: Private School Girl – finale episode

Well, what can I say, I never saw it coming! While I knew creator and star Chris Lilley had something controversial up his sleeve, his decision to photoshop (very smoothly) a semi-nude female body onto his head really took me by surprise. While most laughed, a lot of people were just down right confused, and then slightly disturbed.

5. Ron Burgundy on The Project

It might be recent, but that doesn’t mean it can’t make the top five. Ron Burgundy (aka Will Ferrell) was a guest on The Project, and his interview was absolute gold. Check it out below!
