We thought flares had come and gone in the 70s, but just like everything else in fashion, the time has come for a flaring revival.

Flared pants, or bell-bottoms, as some may remember them as, are making waves through the industry. Gone are the days of the skinny jean and skin-tight leggings, with replacements that are just so much more fun.

Flares 1

We have seen it on the runway with Valentino, Derek Lam, PAMB and Marc Jacobs. Whether it was neutral colours and prints with a slight flare, dark denim so flared it could pass for a maxi skirt or a white two piece that could easily be the trendiest pyjama-esque everyday outfit, flares were certainly a show stopper on the runway.

Tuula - Flares

The trend has also been sweeping across the blogging world. Bloggers everywhere are pulling off this trend on the streets of Paris, New York and Brisbane. Jessica Stein, from Tuula Vintage, took the colour pop trend to a new level and rocked an emerald green pair of flares. Although she opted for more of a wide-leg flare, teamed with a feminine lace blouse, its the perfect everyday outfit.

Flared Pants 3

If this trend seems a little to crazy or adventurous for you, then take note of Helena from the blog Brooklyn Blonde, she wore a pair of subtly flared black pants. Both confident and chic, this style is a must-have coming into Autumn.

Which ever way you go, this trend is funky and loud, so have fun with it. Plug in your Ipod, and play a little Saturday Night Fever as you get dressed, sure to get you in the mood and channeling your inner Travolta.

Listen to the ground:
there is movement all around.
There is something goin’ down
and I can feel it.
