Good vibes, good company, good times. TCI has got your weekend covered with comedy, markets and live music, all at The Brisbane Powerhouse!

Discover Brisbane’s raw talent and support your local artists in Queensland’s home for contemporary culture with; Knockoff, the Jan Powers Farmer Markets and Livespark.

FRIDAY: KNOCKOFF

Start your weekend off with a good laugh and a cold beer, because Fridays just got a little funny at the Brisbane Powerhouse. Producing a variety of local and Australian comedians, the Powerhouse are showcasing an hour of the best one-liners, hilarious stories and side side-splitting observations. The last Friday of each month will feature improvised comedy with Brisbane’s own ImproMafia.

SATURDAY: JAN POWER’S FARMERS MARKETS

Set your alarms early, breathe in the cool air, and gather a few friends for a morning filled with fresh seasonal produce at the Brisbane Powerhouse farmers markets. Delivering the best available goodies in QLD, there is over 100 stalls to test and choose from! Nestled on the Powerhouse Plaza  and performance lawn, these markets are colour bursting with flowers, breads, artisan products, meat, fish, poultry, plants, organics and food related objects. All products are made, caught, dug, plucked, picked, bottled or baked by the person serving you so you can know exactly what you’re buying and who made it! It’s a feel good grass roots experience with a social and community slant that is bound to be a lot of fun.

SUNDAY: LIVESPARK

Because what other way is there to finish your weekend off, then filling your soul with 2 hours of live music? With an ever-changing and eclectic mix of local indie, pop, folk, alternative country and rock, Livespark caters for everybody’s music taste – and if not, then maybe its time to hear something new! Mix Tape also continues on the last Sunday of every month, offering unique collaborations between singer-songwiters. Three musicians are brought together to discuss the music that drives them and to perform their own mix tape of original songs or covers. The 2016 line-up for the next upcoming month also includes: Emily Massingham and Luke Morris (21st August), Zac Gunthorpe (28 Aug) and the QUT Bands and Sweater Curse (4 Sep).
