That’s right we’re talking about photography boot camp!

The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is running a two day photography course on 30 June and 7 July 2012 or 12 January and 19 January 2013 from 9am-4pm.

The boot camp looks into the technical aspects of digital photography such as, how to use digital photography skills in the areas of portraiture, landscape photography and photojournalism/photo essay; critiquing photographic work using industry terminology and principles; skills to use digital photography software; and digital photography principles and techniques.

“You will get the best out of what you want,” a spokesperson from QUT said.

During the two days you will be also experiencing in the field photography.

“You will be leaving the building and maybe be heading down to the markets and parks.

“The best thing is that you get to choose.”

Photos will be critiqued and manipulated using professional editing software in QUT’s computer labs.

Anyone interested in improving their digital photographic skills can participate in this but sadly this course is only for those who are 18 and over.

There is no preparation needed for this course. All you need is a SLR camera and if you don’t have one, that’s okay, one will be loaned to you.

“Just rock up with the information provided and away you go.”

The course costs $654.50 but the good news is that there’s an early-bird discounted fee for $589.05. If you want to do the June/July 2012 course the early-bird discount is available till 2 June 2012 and 15 December 2012 if you want to do the January 2013 course.
