Wrap Up: Launch of Sartre Magazine

Lovely open-brick walls were beautifully decorated by art pieces created by Brisbane’s local talent at Creative Drinks’ first networking event of the year, held together with the Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce.
Brisbane business people wandered up to the art pieces, mesmerised by the talent the local scene created. Artists met with these business people, discussing their creations and offering their pieces for sale; whether they were upfront purchases or commission requests.
That night saw astonishing photography and amazing paintings sold to enthusiastic buyers. Artwork inspiration and background stories were explained throughout the night to people who asked. Business cards were exchanged between artists and business people. Talks of decorating their offices with commissioned pieces were overheard. It became quite clear the mix between business people and creatives worked wonders throughout the night.
Fraser Coker of F.T. Coker and solo artist Ross Hunter filled the night with acoustic renditions of their music. Guests milled around tables stacked with Creative Drinks’ new street press magazine, Sartre, while the mellow tunes resonated in everyone’s ears. Sartre’s pages were flipped through and discussed. The magazine creators revelled behind the scenes stories about publishing the magazine. Laughter filled the air, the buzz of excitement humming lightly.
People stayed way passed the finishing hour, caught up in whatever discussions they were having. Fun photos were taken of people who only just met, and people who have done business together for years.
With artists ending the night on a high buzz of compliments, and business people beyond shocked at the talent before them, the night was clearly a success. Hands were shook and smiles were exchanged as people slowly left the immaculate venue provided by The Alliance Hotel.
