Ye Gods of Metal Christmas Festival

Ye Gods of Metal Christmas Festival

| On 10, Dec 2013

What better way to start the holiday season than another round of the Ye Gods of Metal music festival.

Hosted at the Mansfield Tavern, this festival will feature 16 bands over a period of nearly 12 hours.

All bands are from the Brisbane and Gold Coast region and will cover many different styles of metal music.

This ranges from the crushing death metal of Kyzer Soze and Amicable Treason to the 80s inspired glam metal/hard rock of Pyromance.

The festival will also be the official album launch of ‘Sovereign’ by the band Chronolyth.

David Gee is the organiser of the festival.

“The first [Ye Gods of Metal festival] took place in March 2012.

“I then decided to do a Christmas show in the same year and have followed that pattern in 2013 with an Easter and this up and coming Christmas festival.”

The first Ye Gods of Metal festival was held at the Logan Entertainment Centre.

After that one, David decided to move the festival to the Mansfield Tavern.

He chose the tavern because of its “…large stage, dressing room, fantastic lights, bar, plus the management agreed to allow all ages, which is important for me.”

David also chooses which bands get to play at the festival.

“I look for potential and am quite happy to rely on my own judgement.

“I love bands to put on a show, to give the audience something a little special.

“For this up and coming show, I’ve included a few bands who haven’t played Ye Gods.”

One of the bands playing will be relative newcomers to the Brisbane metal scene Reud Mood.

This will be the band’s first ever music festival performance.

Michael Bradshaw is Reud Mood’s vocalist and guitarist of the band which has only been playing live since March 2013.

“It’s a pretty cool lineup!

“A good showcase of the best metal bands Brisbane has to offer.”

Because of the diverse lineup, fans of all different styles of metal music are bound to enjoy the fourth instalment of Ye Gods of Metal.
