Zero to One Art Rave

Zero to One Art Rave

Lockdown breeds creativity and innovation. By now, this much is clear. Our social media feeds are inundated with celebrities, artists and average joes finding new ways to connect and capitalise on being homebound. The QUIVR is a shining example.

Located in the heart of the Valley’s beloved Winn Lane, the QUIVR is a DJ booth that’s kept the hearts of club kids and music geeks alive pumping throughout isolation. Thanks to the strict COVID-kosher rules put in place by the team (“maximum two people in the booth at any time; sanitise equipment between sets’) the QUIVR has been able to provide an almost 24hr livestream of local DJs, allowing listeners to bring the party to the safety of their own homes. Think of them as our very own homegrown Boiler Room.

This coming Friday, the QUIVR is collabing with another Brisbane bred art collective, Rosy & Ed, to bring you ‘Zero to One‘.

Rosy & Ed have had their fair share of screen time with the QUIVR over isolation, hosting many sets where Rosy live-paints while Ed works his magic with the music. The duo have been hosting events across Brisbane since 2019, with shows at Bib’n’Brace Collective, Greaser, and Black Bear Lodge. Dubbing themselves as a “holistic art service”, their aim — much like the QUIVR’s — is to elevate the voices of up-and-coming creatives.

‘Zero to One’ is no exception. This time around, they’re dedicating the space to showcasing local non-binary talent. The music line-up features sets from Benzo, Update Prayer, Banque, Smxg, SU-z, and Amy L., alongside art by Rosy, Ed, and more artists who are yet to be announced.

Tickets are pay-what-you-want, however keep in mind that all proceeds go towards supporting the artists and financially supporting local talent is so hot. Any additional funds raised will be donated to Sisters Inside; a QLD not-for-profit organisation that supports vulnerable incarcerated women.

All ticket holders go into the draw to win prizes from Ben’s Burgers, Dreamboat, WINNston Hair, Jess Blak Jewellery, and Forge Forward.

So if you like to party and you wanna connect with creatives, buy a ticket, mix yourself a drink, and get jiggy with Rosy & Ed this Friday.
